Giving back to my comunity:

Most potters I know love to share their knowledge and craft.

This will be my third season serving as an Artist-in-Residence at the Sally Jones Craft Center at the Montreat Conference Center, Black Mountain, NC.

Here is a list of some of the organizations I have supported over the years with contributions of pottery or teaching.

The Farm at Penny Lane, providing holistic and sustainable approach to wellness.

The Take and Eat Food Pantry (providing supplemental food assistance to residents in Eastern Chatham County, NC)

The Compass Center (helping individuals and families build stable lives by increasing self-sufficiency and preventing domestic violence).

The Eno River Association ( conserving  and protecting the natural, cultural and historic resources of the Eno River basin, NC)

TABLE NC (providing healthy, emergency food aid to hungry children in Chapel Hill), Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church

Urban Ministries of Durham, building community to rebuild lives and end homelessness.

For the past few years I have made pottery ornaments to benefit the Take and Eat Food Pantry. In 2014, the ornaments were angels decorated with slip-trailing. In 2013, they were carved white peace doves.

Throwing Bowls for Empty Bowls events. Over the years I have participated in donating bowls to Empty Bowls events for CORA, The Durham Urban Ministries, TABLE NC and others.
